CONFERENCE DINNER

On Wednesday (August 30th) afternoon we are planning a trip around our Lodz Zoo. The garden was created on the last piece of the former Lodz Forest and now borders the beautiful and largest park complex in Łódź, commonly known as Park na Zdrowiu. The exact opening date of the Zoological Garden remains unknown, but it is assumed that it took place at the time of completion of the construction of the surrounding fence, which took place in the second half of 1938. Since then, it has been constantly developing, modernizing and expanding. The greatest showpiece of the Lodz Zoo is certainly the Orientarium, opened last year, Europe’s most modern breeding complex dedicated to Southeast Asia, which is home to, among others, Indian elephants, Sumatran orangutans and Malay bears. The enclosures and aviaries in the Orientarium cover the area of almost 10 football fields. The applied solutions allow animals to be kept in large spaces in combination with other species and in a varied environment. The guests can observe the inhabitants of the Orientarium from three perspectives: underwater, land and from above.

General 11th ECNP trip schedule:

  • We appear in front of the ZOO gate (Adress – ul. Konstantynowska 8/10, 94-303 Łódź) at around 16:30 to be on time for the elephant bath at 17:00, then we visit the Orientarium with an English-speaking guide. We have to reach the ZOO on our own by public transport, on foot or by taxi.
  • Approximately at 19:00 we leave the Orientarium and visit on our own the ZOO outside.
  • At 20:15 we return to the Orientarium for a conference dinner, which will take place surrounded by aquariums and partly in an ocean tunnel.
  • We will finish dinner before 23:00 and provided coaches will take us to the entance to Campus A of Lodz University of Technology, Żwirki Str. 36, from where everyone will go to their hotel on their own.

Since the specificity of the conference dinner venue imposes certain restrictions on us, including quantitative ones, we would be extremely grateful if you would inform us if for any reason you do not intend to participate in this event. This would allow us to make better use of the available space. Of course, we encourage everyone to take part, because it is a unique opportunity to meet all participants of the conference, but also to see a wonderful place and eat, hopefully, a delicious meal in an unforgettable scenery.
